fairytales

fairy tales are dreams
fairy tales are magic
fairy tales make you happy
fairy tales are forever
fairy tales are not real but who cares

these are my favourite photographs and designs that i have enjoyed creating and i have very fond memories of the stories from my childhood.

Alice in wonderland - this story was one of my Favourite film adaptation every version imaginable because it was fun colourful and full of weird and wonderful things. to create this image was easy for me because i just set it up from what i could see as my interpretation of the events and the surroundings.

Swan princess - is also known as swan lake and i dont know if it is  told as a fairy tale but i enjoy the concept of the story. this also has been turned into a film in 1994 and i emjoyed watching back then as well. this image was originally a lucking shot at the park with my sisters and the swan in the image was taken from another image i had taken on the same day.

goldilocks - this story reminds me 100% reminds me of growing up  and learning about  morals and what is right from wrong. at the times when it was read to me i didnt quite understand it.

princess and the pea - i always use to wonder if i could  feel a pea under my mattress so i tried it one night and i just had a smuched pea suck to my mattress. btw i didnt feel it so my skin isnt delicate like the princess in this story
rapunzel - Rapunzel, Rapunzel Let down you hair. i wanted long hair like this. i enjoyed creating this image because i had to thinnk of ways to make it look like my model had long hair and also create a surrounding for her so that she didnt look silly
hansel and gretel - it one of them stories that will never go away and you will also tell your children. the message i got from it was dont walk in the woods by yourself. dont going into a house made of gingerbread and don't talk to creepy old lady that look like witches.
jack and the beanstalk - always listen to what people  tell you when your sent to the shop and your family is hungry.

red riding hood - beware of the wolf. and tell your granma not to live in a creepy wood.

snow white - i saw the film before i was read the story.  as i can recall snow white was my first disney film ever and i would watch it over and over again because i enjoyed it that much.

all the images above will be put into the book that i would like to create. i could see this work becoming an on going project for myself and the fututre. i have enjoyed every minute of creating this work and have just realised even though im very sleepy is that i will miss not creating fairy tales every day.

i have looked through my picture and noticed a lot of error so i have gone back into my pictures and changed then so that they fit appropriately. also I have added new pictures to the collection from my list of fairy tales that i enjoy as well so that the body of work evolves.

in some of the pictures there is a very obvious sense of illustration because i want to combine my love for photography, illustration and graphical design. Hence the imagery but after feedback its noticeable that some images has been illustrated more than others.

Onto fairy tales

I wanted my imagery to be very personal to me and my childhood so i chose the fairytales that i enjoyed the most as a child and now. the reasoning behind this is because these fairytales helped expand my mind and thoughts and has  also let me escape from reality at time when i have just not wanted personal things in my life to be real.

some of my imagery i believe is stronger than other and a lot have technical errors that i need to improve upon but im enjjoying the creative and illustration aspect of my work.

my work

after looking at example works on the internet i decided to create my own imagery based on some of the styles but didn't like the result of how the pictures came out

i am personally not a big fan of these images i created but they are a test at least

"Pencil vs Camera"

this series of work that I came across started looking at camera and drawing imagery.
from published pencil vs camera piece was in April 2010.

illustration is always black and white and background image is very colourful.

Ben says "i just make art for people. I want them to dream and forget their daily troubles. i used to write poems many years ago. i want to convey a poetic and philosophical meaning into my pictures, each new creation should tell a story and generate an intense emotion, like a poem, like a melody."
